How to Reenergize Older Posts…

Do you ever wonder what your next blog topic will be?  New listings and market reports aside, our posts can cover a variety of subjects.

Worried that you’ve written about it before?

After 14 years of blogging, I have a hard time remembering what I wrote, much less what anyone else has blogged about. So why would a reader of our posts remember everything we’d written?!

Tips to Add Life to Older Posts

~What you want to avoid is just copying and pasting your older post into the ActiveRain editor without adding any updates, changes, or revisions.

~Give your post a fresh viewpoint…nothing stays the same in anything. Your perspective on a topic may have changed.

How we do things now may be different from when you first wrote your post. Right now, it’s a seller’s market. You might have a different approach in a buyer’s market.

~Read the comments on your old post! You may see suggestions that you might incorporate in your new/ refreshed post. A commenter may want you to elaborate on something you said. You never know what you’ll find!

Next time you’re stuck for a blog topic, revisit some of your older posts!!!

Fantastic advice Kathy! I was able to write a post, almost entirely from comments made on a post written many years ago and made it relevant for today.

Kathy good suggestion on going through old blogs and making them current again.  It is also a good way to fix broken links and even update pictures.

Hi Kathy:

Great ideas bringing new life to old posts, especially the relevant topics and posts that have gotten a lot of views (e.g., community posts). As George Souto pointed out it's a good opportunity to fix links, content and photos. I see issues with old posts all the time, especially with links and videos no longer showing up.
