I'm pretty sure your couch and TV will never buy, sell or refer you a customer. This is a good strategy. Be sure to read the responses because people are sharing good info for ways to get out of your own way.
I shared some of my routines in a response to a poster. If you don't like to door hang, find some way to meet people that you do like.
I'll have to blog my 5 a day strategy soon but for now, I'm heading out to go show property to a customer who first bought from me in 2009!
Make it a fabulous day!
Many real estate professionals "hide" in their company offices (or home offices). They often keep themselves distracted, busy doing low priority action items that could be delegated, instead of getting out to meet more people who could become clients or referral source. When they do get out in public many are looking down at their phones instead of looking up and around. After all, the person sitting right next to them could be an ideal client or know someone who wants to sell their home.
We say "Look Up, Get Out & Make More Money". Real estate brokerage is a people game; it is a contact sport. The more you meet the more you make. That is, make more contacts and more money, too!
The 7 Day Challenge: Meet One New Person Each Day
Get the idea that for the next 7 days you could only use your computer or phone for non-business purposes except to coordinate existing transactions, set up times to meet new people and stay in touch. Does panic set in?
Take the plunge! Get out of your office as much as possible. Take note of how many lower priority action items you could delegate. Challenge yourself to meet at least one new person each day, or a combined total of 7 for the week. Introduce yourself to the person sitting next to you. Set up a coffee meet-up and tell your friends to invite some people you do not yet know. Strike up a conversation. Give it a try. Look Up, Get Out and Make More Money!
