Storage PODS are a great way to reduce moving expenses as they are more cost-effective than other moving or storage companies.

Be sure to select the right storage POD for your needs. When you are choosing a storage pod, it is important to remember that there are a few things that will determine what size and style pod is best for you. First, think about how much space you have available. Second, decide what type of items you want to store. Do you want a pod with multiple compartments or just one large compartment? Third, consider your needs when it comes to mobility. Do you need a POD that can be carried or do you want storage space that is larger to accommodate furnishings?

Then the POD can be delivered to your new address. When requesting delivery be sure to find out if there are any restrictions from the city of an HOA for delivering it on the street if there is no driveway.

Important Considerations with POD Rental

Depending on how many items you plan on either storing or moving, you need to determine what size of POD to rent.

If you only plan to store items, a smaller POD may be sufficient. If you are moving a larger amount of items, consider renting a larger POD.

Other important considerations to take into account when renting a storage pod include the length of time that you will need the storage POD. Find out what you can store in the POD. Also, ask if there is any special moving equipment needed when utilizing a POD.

After the Home is Vacant

After the home is completely vacant of your belongings, it is a good idea to go in and thoroughly clean it. Be sure to vacuum, and clean the kitchen, appliances, and bathrooms in order to deliver a clean house free of debris to the buyer. You may even decide to clean the windows. If you have pets, be sure to clean up after them in the yard, so the buyer will enjoy a favorable move-in experience.

My daughter and son-in-law utilized PODS. They sold their home and moved all of their furniture into PODS which were stored by the company. They moved in with us during the completion of their new home in a different city. When they were ready to move, the PODS were delivered to their new home.

I utilized PODS when we had new carpet installed in our home. The PODS were delivered to my driveway. We stored what furniture needed to be removed from the house to allow the carpet installation. When the new carpet had been installed, the furniture was brought back into the house. The PODS were picked up. Everything worked out well.
