AARP Gives Advice as to How To Chose A Realtor

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services

The blurb about Real Estate agents is quite short and the information was provided by Realtor.com. The basic thrust of the message was to use an experienced, full-time agent with references.

That being said, all references as to what makes a good agent made me think of ALL Active Rain friends that I follow.

One other thing I did find interesting is the mention that there has been more agents then houses for sale since this past February.

Thanks for sharing!!  At least they asked Realtor.com and not Zillow or Redfin.  It is relatively good advice but there are so many other things that go into making a good realtor, I see a future blog here!!

As with any of them, it's who has the most money to get on the list!

If memory serves me correctly, they didn't get the last election correct!

Make yourself an awesome day.

Recently I heard there were over 90,000 licensed real estate agents in the State of AZ. Not all are obviously REALTORS(r). Those who embrace selling real estate and are consistently successful are true sales professionals who understand the overall sales process. Too bad so many focus on overall dollar generation (quantity) and not quality of those interactions.

Regretfully the do reference Zillow June Piper-Brandon but I think we should all expect that by now. I call that lazy reporting when Z is used as a reference.

You are spot on Leanne Smith . If I were still active I would be celebrating that I represent(ed) Builders, Developers, and contractors. I never had a shortage of inventory.

Bob, interesting information, but as a senior would think they had used a REALTOR they can trust and count on.

What a great point Joan Cox except I can see where it would apply to the many seniors I know that move from here to a warmer climate.

In my selling area, there are over 2,000 RE agents, Bob and less than 750 local listings on the MLS. Am blessed to be busy still after all these years! p.s. An article loses credibility when Z is used as a source. Sigh.

What you say is certainly true to me Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! and I used to feel the same about Realtor.com however where are they going to get their info on the over-all national market (without actually working hard like the reporters of old). Tell me, now that I have been inactive for about 4 years, has has Realtor.com improved?

No, it hasn't improved, in my opinion. I have yet to complete a profile on the site.

Thank you Will Hamm . I always enjoy Friday from the moment I get out of bed in the morning. I don't know what it is being I seem to work hard 7 days a week anyhow.

I've never thought about it before Kat Palmiotti but that may be true when you think of licensed agents opposed to active agents.

We have seen more agents than houses for sale in our area for a long time, many have done no business, makes you wonder why they keep their license active. And when they do a transaction they have no idea about the changes to the forms etc.

That is a good point as well Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 . I know when I took over a Brokerage (X2) the old brokers kept listing forms from back before I was born. Why I have no clue but had I not tossed them a new agent may have thought they were just fine.

Competition is stiff, for sure.  When I left the paint contracting business, I thought I was getting into a less competitive business.  Boy, was I wrong!
