Sandpoint Realty 'Monday Motivation' - May 16, 2022

Sandpoint Realty Monday Motivation this week I am sure will have mixed reactions.

Sandpoint Realty Monday Motivation

Goals set are meant to be reached.  Yet the path traveled to that goal is being seen as more and more important.

This quote has me looking back on a bicycle ride from a few years ago.  Starting off on the 2nd day, after 100 miles the previous day, I was sore, tired and wondering if I had made a good choice in wanting to do this Rotary WaCanId 6 day ride.  In reaching a summit next to the Columbia River I was able to look back along the river.

Just barely visible, to the west, was a bridge I had crossed hours before.  While my destination was still a long day ahead I was none the less quite inspired/motivated to see the distance I had come, and now the miles ahead seemed much less intimidating.

Sandpoint Realty Monday Motivation

It all boils down to perception and we all have our own perception of what is happening around us at any time.  With this weeks Sandpoint Realty Monday Motivation I will lean in favor of Mr. Darren Hardy's words.

Hi Mark- I love the quote as well as the story you shared with us. Often on our journey, we need to stop and look at just how far we've come. Celebrate those miles.

Good morning Kathy,  Thank you for the feature.  Very nice for a quote post.  Make it a great day.  We have sunshine to celebrate here and I am doing so by getting some lawns done before the rain pops back in Monday or Tuesday.  Mark

Hi Mark,

We set goals but it is the progress we make that is important.  Sometimes the plan just needs to be tweaked but the progress should be celebrated.

Hi Mark,

Love your post and the quote!! Progress is so important.....you will have a better chance of achieving that goal when you see progress no matter how small!

Mark:

Successfully achieving a goal is a great feeling, but a being aware of progress along the way can be a great motivator.

Are you going on the WaCanId bike ride? You have me beat - the best I've done...years ago...was a ride from upstate NY to Boston, 350 miles over 4 days. Bet your scenery is better!

Jeff

Hi Mark!  This is so true!  I recall often times while hiking up the mountain I'd be 1/4 up or 1/2 up and then look up - and look back and think, can I do this today.  Sure!  My key was to simply enjoy this moment, and then this moment.  Nothing better than making it to the top and appreciating the view! And the hike down is just as glorious!  I imagine it's the same feeling on a bike ride!  Sweet!

Back in the days of wearing OD green, the longest hike was started with the first step. After a while the distance got shorter
