Wyonegonic is Hiring for Staff & Counselor Positions

Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

Moose Pond, Pleasant Mountain in the backdrop, the boat docks and canoes are one of my fondest memories in this favorite photograph of mine where I lived and worked in Denmark, Maine at Wyonegonic Camps. As a Staff member, my children adapted to camp life and were supervised by Counselors both International and Domestic. From Staff, camper to Counselor in Training to Camp Counselors, year-after-year we learned community living at Wyonegonic Camps for Girls and Winona Camps for Boys.

Wyonegonic Camps is Hiring for summer 2022! Below is their invitation for you to spend your summer on Moose Pond in Maine! Please contact them directly at wyonegonic.com/staff. Let them know a former Staff Member from 1987 through 1992 referred them to you. I swear, for me and my children, it was the best years of our life. My son spent ten years and my daughter eight years. They learned leadership skills, water safety, and achieved many certifications.

From the smell of the Ocean when kids and Staff go on field trips, to the taste of fresh lobster, or the feelings of exhilaration after riding horses, sailing regattas, climbing mountains, practicing archery, riflery, canoeing, participating in musicals, camping outdoors, learning to cook over an open fire, singing songs, swinging through the zip lines, water skiing and many other water activities, there is a lot to do and more to learn about sportsmanship, safety, and developing leadership and friendship to last a lifetime.

How do I know? I experienced it firsthand and so did my son and daughter. I close my eyes and can still smell Pine Trees, I can recall the sound of the loons, and I vividly remember the laughter. You can too!

The years pass quickly but Wyonegonic memories are forever

---Patricia Feager (Wyo Staff 1987 - 1992)

P.S. Perhaps Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573 from Holton, Maine or Sharon Tara from New Hampshire knows someone who could benefit from a Staff Position or becoming a Certified Camp Counselor.

Good morning Patricia. Your water photo sure has me thinking about the serenity of that view. Likely even more beautiful in person. Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for someone younger. Enjoy your day.

Every time I've heard you speak of Wyonegonic, or I've read what you've written about it, it's evident how much enjoyment you and your family received from being there. Hopefully this year's staff members will as well!

Good morning, Patricia... how wonderful of you to do this shout-out for needed staff at your beloved camp in Moose Pond... everyone is having a hard time finding workers these days. Hopefully, it will result in some excellent and serious inquiries. You are an amazing ambassador for the camp.  I've always loved that picture of you in the canoe.

I think it would be really fun to work at a camp for kids, I remember having a lot of fun at camp when I was a kid.

Nina Hollander, Broker - Awe... thank you! The photograph of me in the canoe on Moose Pond is my favorite photograph too! I still remember the day I was in the canoe with my son and he snapped this shot. We made a great team on Moose Pond. His photography now is outstanding! It would be fun to go back with him and his family to take more pictures.

Bill Salvatore - East Valley - Water is so refreshing! I love it too. Outside of sitting pool side, do you have any lakes in your area of Arizona? I have been to Lake Powell and thought it was amazing!

Brian England - after meeting you in Decatur, TX, I would think you would be a great Camp Counselor. Oh, by the way, at Wyonegonic Camps they have five clay Tennis courts. Do you still play Tennis? At the boys camp there was a Tennis Summer Program but I am not up-to-date on that information.

Yes, I still play tennis but I don't think I am qualified to be an instructor, haha.

Patricia my two boys never did a private camp, but they loved going to church camp and boy scouts camp every year.  Camp thought them both many life long lessons.

Those are wonderful photos, Patricia.  I especially like that vintage photo of you as a camp counselor.  I have a granddaughter who has worked as a Girl Scout Camp counselor for a couple of years.  She loves it.

Myrl Jeffcoat - Thank you for the FEATURE in the PHOTOS group. Wyonegonic Camps in Denmark, Maine is a very beautiful place where Staff, Counselors, and Campers enjoy the tranquil setting 24-7. We slept well and arose the next day energized by the environment and our experiences. I was not a Camp Counselor but rather the Bookkeeper working with Staff behind the gorgeous scenes and was lucky enough to enjoy Moose Pond, Pleasant Mountain, and certain activities on my days off or when  invited by the owners. They were the finest Directors with heart and soul. I was a Girl Scout Leader in Illinois before I worked in Maine.

How wonderful that your granddaughter was a Girl Scout Camp Counselor! I am sure she learned a lot and because of the articles you have written about your grandchildren over the years, I am willing to bet she was a great Girl Scout Camp Counselor. I had to go through a lot of training before assuming my position in IL. Be sure to pass the information on to her, for potential opportunities. And tell her, when I worked there, the campers loved to sing "California Dreamers."
