Since day one, my niece’s son has been fascinated with construction equipment... excavators, backhoes, dump trucks...and garbage trucks too.


When he was a toddler and out on walks with his grandmother, the world would stop if he heard the garbage truck coming. He insisted that they wait for the truck, and when it arrived, he jumped up and down and waved at the driver. 

 

 

His mother has no problem enlisting his help when it’s time to take out the garbage!

Last week, Raffe graduated from pre-school. As each wee one walked up to receive their diploma, the teacher shared with everyone what that child wanted to be when they grew up.

 

Guess what Raffe’s goal was?  Yep… A garbage man. Honest work and no shame in that but I laughed all night. 


 

By the way…some of the other professions…

2 Batmans

1 nurse

3 police officers

1 Spiderman

1 Builder

1 Dentist

1 Garbage man

And my favorite and a sign of the times…

I also would have liked to have been a garbage man Kathy Streib but I would have had to have purchased a home on 20 acres or more with a big pole barn or two first to keep all my treasured finds in. Todays automation has probably destroyed that dream for many.

Raffe will make an amazing garbage collector but I bet he ends up being in charge of garbage collection for the whole city and won't spend much time on the truck, haha.

Hi Kathy,
Let's hope Raffe follows his heart all the way to the driver's seat or wherever it takes him by the time he grows up. Who knows, maybe he will design a high-tech garbage truck that won't even require drivers.

Hi Kathy,

How fun!  Raffe must be just a little younger than Tristan.  But he seems very focused.  I like that.   Tristan just "graduated" from Kindergarten. Very interesting,  Some of the children were held back.  They announce very tastefully who moves into first grade and who is not ready.  Tristan wants to be a superhero when he grows up.  This is not surprising! HaHa!
