This Week…Let’s Have a Knee-Jerk Reaction Towards Kindness

Hi Kathy... a heart-warming post this morning with wonderful advice. I was just thinking yesterday how tired I am of the blame game and of people jumping to conclusion before all the facts are in.

Instead of the knee-jerk reaction to ban, fire, and blame…let’s instead have a knee-jerk reaction towards kindness.

Hello Kathy and Thank you for your great blogs that you share with us daily and always with good pictures.

I had to turn off the news as there was so much knee-jerk reacting going off and it was doing nobody any good.  I went shopping yesterday for last minute items for our Memorial Day party.  Everyone, once again as the previous day, in the store was extra kind to each other and the workers were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help me.  It appears they all read your post Kathy and for that I'm grateful.  My Mom taught me well, '"If you can't say anything kind, don't say anything - you'll be glad you did".  We all need more kindness, not less.  And especially all those families in Texas and the entire community.

I think if we taught kindness in school instead of algebra we'd all be way better off.  Algebra should be an elective. Kindness should not!  The smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Our hearts should be with Gold Star families and the families of Uvalde.  I am praying for all...

Kathy you provide wise sensible advice.  But when emotions run high it is difficult to control them.

There is an elementary school around the corner from my home.  They often flash the quote, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind!"

Beautiful sentiments for our military people and for the horrific act on children and their teachers in Uvalde. Thank goodness one swift act saved many others but the tragedy creates a huge ripple effect of loss, grief and overwhelming sadness. Thank you for writing this Kathy!

Kathy, I love this. We need to put love and kindness first. I often think about people who were kind and welcoming no matter what. They'd lend a kind smile, a gentle touch or hug, or positive words. They're the ones you walk away feeling better than you did when you arrived. Those are the people I hope to be like.
