The unofficial start to summer celebration has begun!! On Memorial Day Weekend excited Drummers and Belly Dancers gathered together at the Sunken Meadow State Park in Long Island NY to offer a free public drum circle. This was an amazing and super fun opportunity to let loose, dance, play, connect, and above all create new happy memories!
More public drum circles are being planned for the summer and ALL are always welcomed!! We invite you to bring your own instruments and if you don't have any, attendees at the Drum Circles tend to have extra instruments to share. It is also recommended to bring a chair, some snacks, water, and sunblock :)

You can find scheduled Drum Circle events by visiting the Hand Drummers of Long Island NY Facebook page. There are various drum circles hosted all over Long Island NY (Long Beach, Robert Moses, Sunken Meadow, Port Jefferson, Venetian Shores, and South Hampton) as to name a few locations.
The drum circle we hosted, in particular, is called the "Sunken Meadow Drum and Dance" or "Rhythm Journey Drum Circle." Just to share, our drum circle itself is free, but if entering the park for any scheduled Sunken Meadow drum circle between 10 am - 6 pm there is a fee issued by the Sunken Meadow state park in order to gain access to the park. However, when a drum circle is scheduled for after 6 pm, the park is free to enter.

We hope to see you at the next one and feel free to spread the word!
