Dancing in the rain...or not
Dancing can take on many forms. Just last night we watch a show from the 1900's and were moved to laughter watching "The bear dance", quite popular in its day. Dancing is a form of expression that can mean many things to many different people. Think of some of the phrases you hear in everyday life: Golfing: "On the dance floor" (actually, quite a few sports use this analogy). Dancing is GREAT!
The beauty of...weather doesn't matter!
The weather really isn't a concern when dancing. Dance under the moonlight, dance in the rain, dance in your kitchen or dance on the ballroom floor! You can dance barefoot, in heels, or even in slippers.
There is no right or wrong way to dance.
Unless, of course, you are dancing in a competition, just dance. Move the way you want to move. Breathe, laugh, and connect with others on the floor. Most of all, enjoy the movement and be yourself. What a lovely concept. No rules. Just dance.
This post is inspired by Johnson City Ballroom in Johnson City Tennessee. They offer dance lessons of all types. Social dancing, formal dancing, all the basics. Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa...you name it. Just a fabulous place.
