Real Estate Housing Market Hits a New Low? Yikes!

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Property Experts

houseWe all know the real estate industry is in dire straits. But I just read something that takes the proverbial cake.

I had so many titles running through my mind for this post. Thankfully, I found something appropriate to settle on. LOL

Check this out. For this woman, the housing market is so bad, she's offering her hand in marriage along with an acceptable contract on her home. When I saw the photo of the woman, SOOO many more thoughts ran through my mind, which I am determined not to add to this post. I'll let you form your own opinions. There are just some things that jump out at my darned eye for detail! *crap!* (Umm, I'm sure she's a very nice lady?)

Anyway, here's the link to the article on MSNBC.... Can you believe this actually made it onto MSNBC? And on my home page no less! Single Mom Selling FL Home, Heart Online. The title of her online ad? "Marry a Princess Lost in America" *sigh*

I think I have now officially seen it all, but you can read my follow up to this post here: Follow up to Real Estate Housing Market Hits a New Low? Yikes!

I saw the add as well on MSN myself.  I can not believe that things have gotten so bad that anyone would suggest marriage to sell their home!  Marriage is sacred, not a marketing blurt. Who's to say that the person who would have liked to bought her home wanted to marry this lady at all.  What a turn off.

NICE, what a seller story, can you beleive she's having trouble selling...........Princess?  I think not.  Lost in America for sure.  I hope she enjoyed her 14 minutes of fame.........

I saw this "news" in the local paper here in Michigan and said out loud, "only in America."

Get a job, get a life!

I wanted to laugh when i heard the story.  However while this sounds crazy we are reminded of just how much the market is struggling.  It is funny but belies a deeper truth.

Hi Lisa, I'd rather foreclose on my house than get married!  Love the subtle peek-a-boob!

Lisa,

It's all about the marketing and she did get your attention!  HMMMMMMMM wonder if there was an age limit on the man she will accept a contract from?  Stop it, I'm married.

Susie- YOU saw the part I couldn't bring myself to print. LOL!

Christy- You're absolutely right. Marriage is sacred and this is what it's being reduced to.

Everyone else- I wrote this because I couldn't believe how bad the housing market had gotten. But now I'm wondering, how desperate can this woman's personal life be? My goodness! The sad part is, with this much publicity, she'll probably get her sale and her marriage too! But I'll bet the sale outlasts the marriage ;)

It's insanity at its best. I'm with Poppy D. on this one (she wrote about it as well). Question: "What if I want the house. Do I have to keep her?"

They are chatting about this crazy chic in England as well... Go figure...

I actually like what she's doing!  Not that it's likely to work but she's thinking outside the box and look at the attention it's brought.

The attention is phenomenal, but did she have to put out the fact that she has a license to practice in our field? That doesn't bode well for women who have to deal with arrogant men. Now they have an international  poster child home grown in the good ole USA to wave in our faces when they ask , "how far are you willing to gp to sell this house?"  I'm with her 14 year old on this one: "Mom, you're embarrassing me..."
