Is having your real estate sign in with your listings first picture cheating?

Is having your real estate sign in with your listings first picture cheating?  I have been told to take pictures of just my sign off listing pictures.  On all cooperating brokerages websites your picture will be displayed.  Is this fair to the other brokerages?  Or am I just indirectly advertising through thier websites?

I feel strongly a real estate sign is not allowed in a MLS photo. This is a form of advertising, which is not allowed by NAR guidelines. I also feel it's a disservice to your seller. The goal, IMO, is to draw attention and excitement to the property you are selling.

No sign, no matter MLS or on your website.
