Good morning, Buzz... loved the post, loved the story, loved the photos and art work. Now I feel I have to get to Frederick sooner rather than later and see it up close and personal.
Nina Hollander, Broker There is quite a bit to do and see in Frederick that would fill up a week or weekend trip to our area.
Interesting story! I never heard of Barbara or the poem. Thanks for sharing!

Brian England There are amazing murals all around Frederick that add to the historic charm of our town.
What a remarkable story of the great soul, Barbara Fritchie. A true Patriot she was, indeed. A beautiful poem by John Greenleaf Whittier. I will buy a book if there is one telling her story in modern English.
Thank you for sharing the history with us, Buzz.
Awesome! I will get it on my Kindle. Thanks, Buzz.
Fact or Fiction I love this story! It makes me wonder how easy or hard it was to get an America Flag in those days.
Thank you very much, Buzz, for sharing your photographs.
