Ole Glory Coast to Coast We Pledge Our Allegiance

Happy Flag Day 

How lucky to look out my door each day and see the American Flag waving proudly in the breeze and recently the Ukrainian Flag has been added to show our support. Long shall they wave and let freedom ring

Delaire  Landing has a long historic history. At one time George Washington would come down the Delaware river to get bread for his troops that were in Valley Forge during the Revolutionary war. It was not Delaire landing at that time but an estate where there was a bakery that baked bread and also included the property next to Delaire called Bakers Bay.

If you take a fifteen-minute car ride you may tour The famous Betsy Ross House. This is the official house where the American flag was made. I still remember visiting there as a young school girl. 

Pledging Allegiance to the Flag still gives me the chills today when I say it as I did when I was a child. I was looking on YouTube and found this really interesting information I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Hannah... how nice to live so close to "history." Our generation was raised to respect the flag and the pledge of allegiance... sadly, that's not the case with so many younger people these days.

Nice post, and glad you get to enjoy a view of the flag every day. I do not know any other country that pledges allegiance to their flag as America does, but I may be wrong.

Hannah- you were so lucky to have grown up around such a historic area. The first time I saw Philadelphia was just after graduating high school. We took a walking tour of historic sights and I remember seeing the Liberty Bell.

Philadelphia has no shortage of flags flying the skies Kathy Streib where I live now are the suburbs of historic Philadelphia . Some days you truly can imagine the horse and carriages that must have traveled down to the City from here.

I admit that I too appreciate seeing the Ukrainian flag under the US flag showing our support even though their leader has not been the best of friends to the USA. The point is we love and care about the people.

What a nice touch to see the Ukraine Flag added to show support.  I love to read about the rich history in your area as well as others.  Living in the young western states, our history is so different.  I want to get back there to see some of this.
