Interesting bird habits in Northeast Tennessee
I have always enjoyed my birds and made sure I have feeders and food out for our many feathered friends, but boy have I learned so much about birds this year! We have a new store in town called Wild Birds Unlimited. It is a franchise and many of you may already know about this wonderful place. They are amazing and very knowledgeable about birds. Definitely the local bird experts and willing to share their wealth of knowledge. I stumbled upon this store back in March of this year. I thought I would go in and buy some feed. I had no idea I would end up joining a club, buying several new feeders, and learning about what birds to be on the lookout for. I even learned where in the area to find the Baltimore Oriole and when they would be there. I was simply thrilled with the amount of information the owners shared with me. It was so enjoyable. I also learned that Hummingbirds have a special time of year when they grace us as well. And it's different depending on where you live. The pictures I have shared are from my yard. The Rose-breasted Grosbeak was only in town for a short 2-3 weeks in May. I take pictures of my birds and bring them to the store, they tell me everything I need to know. Pretty cool. Look up this franchise, visit them, if you are into birds...that is.
