Joe Manausa - Tallahassee, FL I was talking about this to a group of Realtors just the other day.  It has been a long time since we have seen assumable loans, but I think we are going to start seeing them again real soon.

I would hope so George, but with supply so low, I'm not so sure. Cash buyers are making them unnecessary.

When I first became an agent in 1981, the interest rate on new mortgages was 18%.  It would be at least 2 years before I sold a home where a new loan was originated.  All sales, were on homes that had existing assumable loans with low interest rates, and little equity.
