Flags Flying Aboard The Delta King

The last couple days, I’ve enjoyed fun time playing with the little online photo editing tool, iPiccy.com.  iPiccy is free, and offers several options to enhance your pictures.

I used iPiccy’s “emboss” tool while playing around with one of my images of an authentic paddlewheel riverboat, The Delta King, which is moored on the Sacramento River, at the waterfront in Old Sacramento.  Because of two flags present on this The Delta King image, I thought it would make a good contribution to ActiveRain’s June Challenge. A Challenge suggesting we post images of Old Glory providing testament Americana is alive and well.

Originally built in 1927, The Delta King has been restored and brought back to its former glory.  In today’s world the paddle wheeler functions as a boutique hotel with one-of-a-kind facilities. She provides riverfront dining, nightlife, conference facilities, and a beautiful riverside wedding venue.

Over the years, I've attended several events aboard The Delta King.  There have been corporate events, and a 50th Wedding Anniversary, for a couple I had known forever.

Myrl Jeffcoat - Superb entry for the June challenge! You followed the challenge instructions and brought the Delta King to life in a very artistic and creative style of your own but didn't change its beauty. The photo looks like Magazine quality, picture perfect. I love it! 

I tried iPiccy years ago and liked it but stuck with a different photo editor. I think I'm going to have to go back there and challenge myself once more. I always enjoy your blog posts and who you illustrate while educating. Thank you for all you do here on ActiveRain.

We enjoyed a Mark Twain show many years ago on the Delta King.  It was a fun time!
