This Week…So Dry
What a week this has been. We’ve had very high temperatures (bordering around 100 degrees) and little to no rain.
My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all. John Lennon
Even with a sprinkler system, many have taken to hand watering those little areas that are beginning to turn brown.
I'd like to end up sort of unforgettable. Ringo Starr
This morning while I was “spot watering” I decided to listen to some of my favorite songs by the Beatles since it is Global Beatles Day.
If you don't know where you're going, any road'll take you there
George Harrison
This also brought back fond memories of spending time with my grandmother. She loved her garden. Often in the evenings, I would go outside and watch her (and probably get in her way) as she cared for her plants.
She taught me how to adequately water everything (No in-ground sprinkler systems then), how to plant mint to keep insects away from the tomatoes, and exactly where to trim the roses.
You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.
Paul McCartney
Working in the garden helped me keep my sanity while I was in grad school. I wonder if children today understand where our fruits and veggies come from??? Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can!'s children and grandchildren are so lucky!!!
Have a cool weekend!
