Six of the Many Reasons Why I Like Wisconsin and Why You Will Like it Too.

1  FamilyWisconsin forest bridge

I started my career traveling the country working for the Forest Service. When our family started to grow, we knew that the obvious choice was to make a permanent move back to Wisconsin.

Not only was it a place where our extended family was from, it also was a place that had the schools and other things necessary for our children to prosper and grow in.

2  Great SchoolsWisconsin forests

In all of our travels we heard from other educators how much they wished that they could have the education that the people of Wisconsin had.

An education system that has been built and nurtured from Kindergarten through the University with high standards and the highest quality teachers at every level.

3  Jobs and Industrypaul bunyan Wisconsin forests

One of the advantages of having high quality education is that you grow high quality employees and high-quality business leaders who can start and grow important industries.

Agriculture is a primary industry here with Dairy farms in nearly every county.

The timber industry however is the leading job producer with jobs provided at every level from the forests to the many products that are produced from them.

You will also find thousands of other industries, both auxiliary industries like tourism, and unrelated industries like manufacturing and technology.

4  Wisconsin is very Green!fawns Wisconsin forests

I have a friend on AR that frequently mentions how much he admires all the green in my photos, and my wife mentioned this as well on a recent camping trip.

Yes, it is green here, and it goes far beyond the color.

We have worked hard in Wisconsin to nurture our environment from the Forests to the Air, to the Water and beyond.

We have some of the top Forestry and Natural Resource Universities here in Wisconsin. Our Stevens Point and Madison graduates are not only doing amazing things here at home, they are also highly prized by thousands of agencies and companies throughout the world.

All that green is not only pretty to look at, it also translates into dollar signs with the timber industry being the number one employer in the state and tourism following close behind.

5  InfrastructureWisconsin forests

As I travel around the country, and beyond I am constantly reminded of the many things that we are provided for us Wisconsin that either do not exist or come with a large toll in other areas.

We have good highways, without tolls here, unlike so many other states that fail to look at the big picture and focus on the change they can charge the citizens and visitors to their state.

Internet is another perk that I fail to notice until I go somewhere else.  On a recent trip I was disappointed to find how hard it was to not only get a cell signal but could not even find a good wifi source in cities large and small.

Clean plentiful water, another essential that so many parts of the country envy.  We have lots of it, and it did not come easy, it took years of zealous protection of the lakes, rivers, and groundwater to achieve this precious resource.

6  Sports and RecreationWisconsin forests

A few of our sports teams have achieved both local and international notoriety.

Last week while traveling through Northern Ontario I was amused to strike up conversations with two people who claim to be the Green Bay Packer's greatest fans, a conversation that seems to happen often as I travel to all corners of the US, and now even Canada.

In addition to the Packers sports fans may also enjoy watching a few of our other teams including the Brewers, Bucks, Badgers, Pointers, and even the Luck Cardinals.

Outdoor sports enthusiasts also find Wisconsin to be the place to be with abundant lakes, forests, wildlife, trails and more to keep any outdoors person busy for a lifetime.

Ready for a visit, or a move?Wisconsin forests

There is a reason why we see caravans of tourists pouring in from Illinois and Minnesota every weekend, and why we have helped so many people from places like TX, CA, and AZ to find new home here.

When you are ready to make the move on up to Wisconsin give me a call. the Woodland Team can help you too.

I have traveled to Wisconsin, but seldom got beyond the greater Milwaukee area.  It always impressed me, however

Hello Bob - while I admit the Luck Cardinals or their winning ways were unknown-to-me prior to reading this post, I can appreciate the spirit behind the reasons for your passion about the badger state.  I can trace some family history there with relatives on my mom's side who moves there and I have visited Wisconsin on a business trip many years ago (but just once, I think) seeing Milwaukee as well as some lesser-known places.

Good Wednesday morning, Bob.

You should be attracting home buyers from the DC Metro Area. It is a good time to sell here and to relocate to a more affordable area that also offers a good quality of life.
