Final submission to the June challenge by Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho and Endre Barath, Jr. on Old Glory. This was not the flag intended to be used by my final post.
In the 1960's I attended a military school in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This past weekend we were in Lake Geneva for the wedding of the daughter of life long friends. Sunday morning we took a walk through the town before having lunch at a lakeside restaurant.
As we were walking past the post office, I noticed the flag waving and my mind immediately flooded with memories of so long ago. Why, no idea! So, had to take the photo. Lunch had me out in left field with memories. So I was not a big participant in the table conversation. Wonder if I would have noticed that flag without this month's challenge but that is a pondering for another time.
It was such a simpler time back then and many times I wish for simpler times again. In our current tumultuous times or back then, my respect for the flag continues. Enjoy your day!
