July is Parks & Recreation Month in Gaithersburg, Maryland
July is Parks & Recreation Month in the City of Gaithersburg, and will be proclaimed by the Mayor and City Council at its July 5 meeting. Using the National Recreation and Park Association theme of “We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation,” Gaithersburg will bring attention to how important it is to rise up and support parks and recreation staff and volunteers, as they rise up in service of equity, climate-readiness, and overall health and well-being.
The City is excited to introduce the Explore Gaithersburg! Park Passport in partnership with G-PARC. Participate by visiting as many Gaithersburg parks as you can.
Send a photo of your filled out passport to GPARC@gaithersburgmd.gov by Friday, August 5, to be entered into a drawing for a family four-pack of Putt ‘n’ Pool passes to the Gaithersburg Miniature Golf and Water Parks. Tag your park visit photos @gparcmd on Facebook and Instagram and use the hashtags #GburgParks and #RiseUpJuly. Download the Passport and learn more here.
During Parks and Recreation Month, the City is offering a variety of opportunities to celebrate health, fitness, and cultural arts. Explore them all here.
