Happy 4th of July 2022 to all my ActiveRain friends.  Tomorrow is the 4th of July and my wife and I will be spending a quiet and relaxing.  No partying, no picnicking, just relaxing. 

Normally we go to RI for a cookout with family, but this year our annual cookout will be next week, and we will also use our annual cookout to celebrate my granddaughter Elizabeth's birthday.  My son Matthew and family, is  flying today from Seattle today, so it was the perfect opportunity to also celebrate Elizabeth's birthday with the whole family.  It has been several years since Matthew and family have been back in CT, so my wife and I are really looking forward to spending this time with them.

Hopefully all of you will have a happy 4th of July, and get to spend quality time with your family and friends, or just sit back and relax.   Whatever you do, I hope you do it in a safe way.  We want the 4th of July to be a day of celebration, and not a day of regrets.

Although your traditional 4th of July cookout was altered and rescheduled for this week, I am delighted to hear about your family celebrations for your granddaughter Elizabeth’s birthday! To be reunited with your son Mathew and have his family flying in from Seattle is extra special! A family is great but to be united as a whole family is even better. I understand how important this celebration is to you and your family because I also go for several years without the privilege of being with my immediate family too.
