Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty hi Jeff... from one perspective I agree... from another... first-time buyers were buying homes at much higher interest rates 15, 20, 25, years ago. We all knew that the really low rates we saw for so long couldn't last... I spent a lot of time trying to get that message out. Some listened and some didn't.

Fantastic information to share with those who are renting and thinking about home ownership, Nina. Though interest rates are on the rise, it still makes sense to buy now (before they continue to trend up)!

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! hi Wanda... that's what I've been telling prospective buyers... interest rates are not dropping and neither will home prices... they might not accelerate as quickly but still not enough inventory to see them drop.

Hi Nina- good call to action for those renting to take the first step to independence!  Just because it's a holiday, there's no reason to put this off.

Kathy Streib thanks, Kathy.... even taking that first step with a phone call to start the process right after the holiday is a good step towards independence.

Nina being free from renting is both a goal and major milestone in life.  It is becoming more difficult to do in the current housing market.

George Souto good morning, George... I firmly believe that being a homeowner is a big part of the American Dream. And I also think that somehow, no matter how tough things get, people who want to achieve that part of the American Dream find a way to do so.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho good morning, Mark... Charlotte was always known for its reasonable rents... no more! They have escalated at least as quickly as home prices.

Nina Hollander, Broker - Amen!!! You said it all and Tenants need to heed your advice. To my knowledge, there are no caps or guidelines on Landlord rules on how much they can collect.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP landlords can charge whatever the market will bear. There are however rules as to how much of a security deposit a landlord can ask for in many jurisdictions. Here in Mecklenburg County they can't ask for more than one month, for example, and it must be held in a fiduciary account.
