Oh yes, I used to be able to fry it almost as good as her! Lightly flour, no batter.

the trick is in pan frying, hot Crisco (shortening not oil) till golden brown on all sides, simmer on very low heat covered for 45 minutes to an hour Lift the cover put a teaspoon of water in the pan, put the cover back on, turn the heat up when it starts to sizzle take the cover off and let it get back to crispy. Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy and if your real luck corn on the cob
