Many in my neighborhood were disappointed when the Spring Creek BBQ at the corner of Beltway Drive and Midway Road closed shortly after COVID hit. Several of us were told by the parent company that the closure was temporary - they'd reopen after refurbishing the interior and after the construction on Midway Road was completed. But the signage came down and a for sale sign went up. The place was within walking distance from Midway Meadows, Towne Lake, and both Pecan Square and Walnut Square subdivisions.
Fast forward: It's not walking distance, but it's a short drive. There's a new BBQ
place to try: Crossbuck BBQ on Spring Valley Road in Farmers Branch, just east of Midway Road. I tried it today for the first time, after 3 months of driving past the Now Open sign.
The food is delicious and the portions are huge! I had the sliced brisket, with a side of the rosemary potatoes and a side of slaw. Next time I'll try the ribs!
