Once a Holsum Bakery
    The Bakery Condos was once a Holsum Bakery. It was turned into apartments in the mid 1990's and into condos in the 2004 time frame. The four story building has 66 units. 
     One unusual but positive aspecty is that all the units have parking in the garage and in the rear secure lot. A few units have sold their spaces to other units but this is rare. The complex is on the edge of the Warehouse District near the interstate and the New Orleans Convention Center.
    The condo fees are very moderate. Improvements have been made to the common areas almost every year since my first sale there in 2004-2005. There is a small gym on the first floor. An Atrium or indoor courtyard as you enter from the parking lot and South Peters. There is a rooftop pool and courtyard on the rear of the property on the 3rd floor.
    There are a lot of one bedroom units with the small units facing the Atrium. The out side units tend to be larger with one and two bedroom units. The two bedroom units are normally less than a 1000 sq. ft. but have lots of natural light, exposed brick, warehouse windows. The kitchens tend to be small in most units. All the units have stackable washer and dryers. Over the last ten years many units have been upgraded by the individual owners. Many of the units still have the origional hardwood floors that people tend to really like. 
    There are several large units on the top floor but those units are rarely on the market. Years ago many of the units were second homes. Now it tends to be more full time residents. 
    The elevators are in the front part of the Atrium with stairs in the front and rear of the building. The units on the fourth floor have higher ceilings than the rest of the units. Some of those units are two bedroom townhouse style units with bedrooms up and living areas down. Pets are welcome.
