It isn't hard to notice the mass construction when driving down Green Street, across from Paseo Colorado. And as with most construction, it evokes curiosity. etcList If you're a Pasadena resident you may be more anxious than curious, and you may be a little tired of all the construction dotting our city, but that's what makes it and maintains it. The good news is that the Convention Center is well underway and ahead of schedule. "The new center will feature 85,000 square feet of exhibit space, 28 "breakout" rooms for smaller conferences, a new 25,000-square-foot ballroom and additional parking." The ice skating ring will remain intact for the time being. This should translate to bigger functions and more businesses/associations having their conferences and conventions in Pasadena, helping to further strengthen the city core (Old Pasadena). Construction, it's somewhat of a love/hate relationship, but once it's done, it shall be quite magnificent (Milestone for new Convention Center, Pasadena Star News)(More).
