My NEW Alarm Clock Is Not Working

Every house broken dog I have owned in the past worked well as an alarm clock. I'm not so sure that's the case with the new (8 year old) member of our family.

Baby is a sweet gentle dog but after an "incident" with food left on the kitchen counter (a whole stick of butter) we decided to kennel her at night (which seems to be fine with her).

Not long ago we were self wakers who did not use an alarm clock. A Dr. friend said we would feel much better in the morning if we did use an alarm clock. We followed his advice and he was right, we do wake up more refreshed than before. If you don't use an alarm clock you may want to give it a try... even if it licks your face and says "it's Pee O clock".

Thank you once again to Timmothy N. Timm for the use of his comic strip Titus & Philemon. To learn more about Timmothy N Timm, The Titus & Philemon Art Gallery and/or The Timmothy N Timm Art Studio visit his website HERE.

Hi Bob- my watch alarm wakes me up every morning, weekend or not. And by body clocks almost always wakes me up about 15 minutes before my watch goes off.

I can identify with that Kathy Streib as I seem to look at the clock at least once before it goes off if not even twice before it goes off. 👀

Cute post, Bob. I've always kenneled my dogs at night when they were "new." Bingo is no longer kenneled at night but he loves to go in their sleep in his bed in the kennel when I am not at home. The minute he sees me put on shoes and pick up my handbag, he puts himself into his "house." Bingo is also a counter surfer so nothing is left that he could eat when he's unsupervised on counters. I learned this when I turned my back on him once and then couldn't find the frozen crab cakes I'd left out to defrost. It didn't take but a minute!

My life used to be alarm-clock driven. Every day, the clock would go off at some crazy time so I could get everything done before leaving for work. If I had a meeting that required a plane flight, it might go off at 3am. Now? I have not used an alarm clock for many years, with the few exceptions for days I have to get on a plane or something. Otherwise, my body wakes me up somewhere around 5am and up I go!

Thank you for the morning laugh Nina Hollander, Broker . It's amazing how stelth they can be when sneaking food. Maybe if we get Baby and Bingo together they will demand buttered crab cakes. How about you and I have lobster? 😊

Naps are something that I wish I took more of, haha.  That sound, wheek, is new to me, I don't think I have heard it but then again I don't have a dog of my own, haha.

Kat Palmiotti you would fit right into our household. We are all early risers. Although the alarm is set for 5:45 I am almost always ready to roll before the alarm goes off. I do find however that if I hit the doze I sleep like a log until it goes off again.

Brian England Titus & Philemon are guinea pigs and that is exactly what they sound like. It's incredible how loud they can be if they want attention. They really are fun pets.

Interesting that the Dr said you would feel more refreshed using an alarm clock, I have generally always been an early riser, as I have aged, more late nights I have become a little tardier. Our warm friend does not bother us always willing to let us lie in, very controlled about her need to be outside for her abloutions.

Thank you Roy Kelley and the same to you. We will be trying to get as much family time in as we can in the next 3 weeks before Timmothy heads back to college and Carol back to teaching.

One less thing to be anxious about (getting up on time) I guess Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 . I think there is a strong possibility that Baby will grow into her new environment and become more like your warm friend.
