Yes,.... it is very important to "declutter" the home prior to listing it.  Nothing is more appealing to a buyer than seeing the potential of the rooms looking more spacious.

Yes de-cluttering is important and after that cleaning. Seeing the left dust ring from a favorite item may turn off buyers.

Declutter gets tougher the longer you are in the house  I tell my wife she needs to warn me 5 years in advance of selling so she has time to clear the emotions of decluttering
