Cherry Creek Reservoir is located in Aurora off I-225 and Parker Road. There are two entrances, one off Parker Road and another entrance off Dayton in Greenwood Village.
This State Park is very popular and will find many boaters and fishing people flocking to the reservoir. Here are a few features about this park -
~There are 880 acres and 12 miles of trails, and a helmet must be worn.
~ Park is open from 5 am to 10 pm daily
~ Fishing is allowed with a required license
~ Camping is allowed (135 sites) for tents and RV (has hook-ups), and reservations can be made online.
~ Dogs are allowed, must be on a leash (not allowed on the beach)
~ Jet skis can be rented at the lake
~ Two boat ramps East and West sides
~ There is a group picnic area, and many picnic areas around the park
~ You will find a model plane flying section on the west side of the park.
~ Enjoy the swim beach
~ Daily and annual park passes may be purchased.
It is really special floating on a boat at sunset and watching the sunset over the mountains!
