Around 30 years ago I learned these words from Cavett Robert. He was an attorney and co-founder of the National Speakers Association. He was so cool, I recall him patting me on the shoulder and saying: Dan, ask questions ask questions ask questions.
I always think of Tom Trimble a retired attorney, who every time I would talk with him he would have questions to ask. How are you? What is happening in your life? Tom is one of my favorite people.
He was referring to me when working in real estate sales, but I am sure he did a lot of question asking as an attorney. Asking questions in any area of your life is extremely important. You want to ask a lot of questions before asking a girl to marry you. Before you purchase a high-priced item from someone you do not know.
You can never ask too many questions. And if you ever have someone say something to you like why are you asking so many questions? You can come up quickly with all kinds of answers to that. Like: I just want to be sure this is the right decision for me. I have never owned one of these before and am learning all I can about it. It is important I know all I need to know, don't you agree? (I like that one) that asking a question with a question is fun.
In real estate sales if you do not ask enough questions you may learn later things the client did not tell you that will cause you more headaches since you left out some necessary questions.
I hope your day is as great as mine.
