Golf anyone? The Villages, Florida is “The Golf Capital of the World” with 711 holes of golf. People might say a town or area has more but don’t think so! For years, we heard about Mission Hills Shenzhen, China with 216 holes but as you can see The Villages blew right past that. Let’s dive a little deeper into golf in The Villages and look at stats from last year, roughly 3.3 million rounds of golf were played on the courses. 717,124 on championship courses and 2,562,703 on executive courses. Now don’t let the executive courses fool you, most of them are challenging 9 hole courses. Share a story had a friend come visit and I took him to one of the hardest executive courses and he made the statement this won’t be challenging, he shot a 50 on a par 36 course, hmmm!
How about a few facts, Golf Balls lost per year 5,810,493, holes in one per year 1,832, golf carts on the golf courses travel 6,330,365 miles a year, the moon is 239,000 miles away, do the math!
