Internet Security & Fraud

With the increased amount of fraud, malware, data breaches, and wire fraud, it's imperative to protect our data and email from malicious attacks.   Daily I'm seeing spam and fraudulent emails that are blocked thanks to a system I've added to my computer.

Protecting my clients' emails and utilizing strong internet security is a top priority for my business.  Adding Advanced Security from GoDaddy has really helped me to track how much spam, fraud and malware attacks have occurred.  Since all of these are blocked, it's easy to see which email has malware when checking the blocked emails.

My desktop computer is monitored for malware and spam, but I've noticed that my emails end up in recipients' spam folders.  This is something I'm still working on, but at least they are receiving my emails somehow!

Maintaining current updates for each type of software and technology is imperative to provide up to date technology for clients and for internet security.

While travelling, I utilize a personal wifi  that is protected from attacks.  Working on contracts from my laptop is secure with my own personal wifi is a must.  This is NOT a hotspot on my cell phone, but a separate component with it's own cell number and secured internet access.  Even in a hotel or public space, it's wise not to use another network that may not be secure.

As a full time REALTOR®, it's my responsibility to provide emails and attachments without viruses, malware or be seen as spam.  I'll continue to monitor these systems to ensure good transfer of attachments so as not to share any viruses or malware to anyone else!

This is a tough thing in the age of bots and stuff. Still, I think there's a lot of reason for hope ;

Hi Jan... I'm very careful about security for my computers and phone. One thing I've never understood is why I set certain emails from clients as safe and they still keep going into my spam folder. Meantime, I receive emails in my in box clearly marked spam.

Hello Jan - this subject has many, perhaps countless, quotes associated with it.  Here's just one from Steve Jobs who had thoughts that still make me wonder:  I believe life is an intelligent thing:  that things aren't random.

Hi Jan - this is an absolute must and even more dangerous are those socially engineered emails or social media texts that fool you into thinking it is someone you know.

Very true Laura Cerrano .  It can be very frustrating. Thank you for commenting!

Nina Hollander, Broker , I hear you.  Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it!  I respond to emails and they end up in people's spam folders.  GRRRR!  Thank you for commenting!

Yes, intelligent, until spam takes over when it doesn't need to!  Thank you for commenting Michael Jacobs !

Oh yes Grant Schneider , very frustrating, too!  Thank you for commenting!
