Doing it in the woods. Come on, REALLY!

As far as the picture above, wonder where all those thistles come from, well, here is THE thistle factory.

Now here is what is REALLY disgusting.

Come on! Graffiti on the Woodland Trail. If anyone should be nailed to a tree it would be the clown who does graffiti on trails made for us to enjoy a little bit of wilderness in the midst of the city.

BTW check out these weeds behind Timmothy and Baby. Keep in mind Timmothy is 6' tall.

Last of all here are some pretty weeds. As long as they are not in my yard they are pretty.

Good morning Bob - such a beautiful setting to meditate and unwind should not be assaulted by graffiti.

Assaulted is a great word for it Grant Schneider . I hope the City can find some bark colored paint(s) to make this assault less noticeable.

Good morning Bob. Looks like a place where you can walk, relax and destress. Not a place for graffiti. Must say those weeds are quite tall. Timmothy walking and looking for new inspiration? Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin I was pretty sure I knew where his inspiration came from but because you asked I just walked into his studio and asked him. I received a different answer then I expected.

Timmothy loves to read. Aside from inspirational material (which I thought was his inspiration) he reads a lot of  comedy material including other comics, video (he loves Weird Al) and the greats of our time and even older.

I hate this graffiti of these narcissists that have to proclaim themselves to the world.

It's especially concerning in the National Parks.

Well said faye schubert . I have heard the word narcissists many times and I assumed it meant one thing but you made me look it up and I see it's another. You were spot on:

Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration

I hate to say/admit that my front yard IS a bed of weeds Sham Reddy CRS but as long as I keep it mowed it still looks good.

Good morning Bob,

It really is frustrating to see graffiti even in our natural settings and parks. We go there to relax and mediate with Mother Nature's beauty.

It is frustrating Dorie Dillard Austin TX . I've never seen this before, what would drive someone to do this? In this perticular park I've never even seen litter.

Seeing graffiti in the woods is not good at all.  I have seen carvings but never really considered that graffiti.  Would you say that it would have been better to have been carved into the tree rather than painted on?

Aug 09, 2022 05:08 AM
Bob "RealMan" Timm

Yes, this is just plain WRONG Brian England . As a young man I did once carve my and my girlfriends name (along with a heart) in a tree. I still think that is romantic and when I see that others that have done it it reminds me of the love I felt for that girl at the time... I still see that as romantic.

Graffiti does not belong on trees. End of story.

I hope the Minot Park District can find a way to hide or tone it down. Deep in the woods the sun will not bleach it out. Thank God they didn't use a bright color. If they catch the person I hope they paint "I am an idiot" on his/her forehead.

Amen to that, Bob! What are people thinking. I guess you could say they are not. Those are some crazy weeds... love the picture of Baby (and Timmothy, too).

I like the word narcissist that faye schubert taught me today Nina Hollander, Broker . It's almost surprising they didn't sign it with their names as great as they think they are. Glad you like the picture. I tried to get the top of the weeds in the picture and I thought I did but to keep Baby in the picture I ended up missing the top of the weeds. We have had an amazing growing season here this year... need any zucchinis?

It is too bad that the trees were vandalized with graffiti. There is no way to clean it up either.  Those are some large weeds, wow!

I hope that there is a way to minimize the damage Ray Henson but I fear you are right that nothing can be done.

Love getting out in nature, cannot understand why people have to deface it. Like listening to radios blasting when they are out in nature, missing all the sounds around you.

I love it as well Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 ,even if it's just in a City park. When we camp it's not really "wilderness" camping but it's a little closer then a walk through a City park.

Wow Bob, spray painting on a tree, so sad and what happen to the old days of carving it with a pocket knife.  I never this that!

I carved on one tree Will Hamm and I was so proud of it but when I showed it to the girl she was NOT impressed. 🤔

For a second I thought Timmothy was growing weed, but after reading more carefully, that of course isn't the case.

That would have been me growing weed... 45 years ago Pete Xavier . I was done with that at age 23 however and have never had any interest in trying it again. The potency of todays stuff is way to scary for me.
