Where is NAR? – National Real Estate Post

Full disclosure, I am not a fan of Opendoor, Zillow or any of the ibuyer platforms. I have seen ibuyers purchase properties from clients that wanted to sell quickly and it cost the sellers thousands of dollars. I have seen many of these agreements, the fees really hurt the sellers.

Believe me, I can understand wanting to sell quickly, but at what cost?

I’m sure you would agree that a local Realtor will most always get a seller the most money for their home? Wouldn’t you agree?

I truly don’t understand NAR and haven’t for many years. What I understand even less is why Realtors do business with Zillow? Realtors give them millions, access to all the listing? Help me understand???

I paid dues to NAR for many years. To me, it looks like they are working for Zillow, and they collect dues from you.

Again, help me understand??

Hi Joe - I have gotten so many of these solicitations form these so called i buyers.  First of all, I am not selling and if I were I would choose my trusted advisor Realtor.

Good morning, Joe... I wish I could provide an answer to your question. But then, I ask myself that question regularly. I consider the requirement to be a member of the NAR and to keep paying them dues a form of enforced unionization.
