Hawaii Coffee Association is hosting the International Roaster and Brewers Cup Competitions in Kailua, Oahu at Tradition Coffee Roasters.

The Hawaii Coffee Association (HCA) will host the 2023 Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) US Coffee Championships (USCC) Hawai’i Roasters and Brewers Cup Competitions on Oahu.

National competitors will vie for top honors in each category for a chance to advance to the National Championships. The qualifying events will take place August 20-21 at Tradition Coffee Roasters, 905 Kalaniana‘ole Highway, #3201 in Kailua and is open to the public!

Those interested in expanding their coffee knowledge, learn more about the intricacies of Hawaii coffee and see how coffee is evaluated are strongly encouraged to attend! There will be various events throughout the day as well as food and entertainment.

Aloha Ray Henson, Hawai'i is one of the few places in the world that has the ability to cultivate both Coffee and Cacao with outstanding results. Great Coffee and Cacao, are similar to wine in that terroir and growing conditions go a long way to define the flavor and quality of the brew or bar. Because of the high costs of island living, limited space and places to grow in Hawai'i, successful production and the ability to scale up is difficult at best. Small batch and boutique brands have done very well internationally as the quality is exceptional but there's limited supply and production. Thanks for commenting.
