What are Buyers Looking for in a Neighborhood?

Hello Joan - buyers usually have parameters in mind that are shared with their agent but it seems there are some that may be revealed in greater detail once they see what is actually available.  Being realistic yet flexible is good to keep in mind in real estate.  

Joan Cox a great post and list. I'd say my buyers' Top 3 from your list are:

schools

amenities

location as it relates to work or the coast.

Buyers are all different in their wants needs and desires. You provide a good list for buyers to consider. Driving through the community over the week-end is a great idea.

Prospective home buyers are in very good hands when they seek your professional real estate advice and assistance.

Hi Joan- everyone has their own list of must-haves when looking at a neighborhood. It's important for them to make a list and decide what they absolutely must have and communicate that to their agent. 

Joan - I think it is wise to have people drive by the area at different times.  They can decide if they see themselves in that neighborhood.

All buyers are different when it comes to shopping for a home but your list pretty much sums up what they look for.

Houses in the new developments in our area have zero lot lines so playgrounds, dog parks, and community pools are more critical than ever.
