There is magic in honesty.

Responsibility and accountability are taught at a very young age. Align with those who uphold a higher standard. Besides, a client who trusts you today, will refer family members and friends well into the future.

At times, during a transaction, obstacles present or mistakes happen. Here are some ways to work through adversity:

  • If you're wrong, make it right
  • Correct an error immediately
  • Apologize to everyone involved
  • Be determined to find a viable solution
  • When at fault, own it, no pointing fingers

We are all human and because of that factor, are fallible. Taking responsibility and being accountable for actions shows respect for clients and encourages business relationships to honestly prosper and grow.

Happy sales all!

I was just in a transaction where the communications just stopped.  It all worked out fine, but one or two phone calls honestly explaining the situation sure would have helped to calm the nerves.

That seems to happen a lot, Ray Henson and puts people who are worriers, on edge. Waiting two weeks for an appraisal to come in creates that kind of stress!

Hi Wanda- succinct and to the point. I have a tremendous amount of respect for anyone who makes a mistake and admits it, owns it, and apologizes for it. We all forgive mistakes but find it very hard to forgive or even work around dishonesty.

Oh yes, if (when) we make a mistake, we've got to own it and fix it.  And there is magic in honesty.

I am all about owning up to mistakes and always being honest.  I will admit to saying nothing during times when I know that people don't want to hear the truth, haha.

We are meant to make mistakes to grow and learn. Admitting to them takes courage and a humble approach, Kathy Streib. Forgiving can heal and mend relationships.

Putting the ego aside can be helpful in these times as well, Kat Palmiotti. My relationships are worth it for sure!

Sometimes, the truth hurts but I will open my mouth when necessary to help determine a good, solid decision, Brian England. When asked for an honest opinion, I give it freely!
