August 30, 2006.
We're a week shy of our 16 year anniversary in the Rain, and that day in 2006 we had no idea what we were getting into, and it's gone far, far beyond just being a "blogging site".
We've seen your kids and grandchildren go from little to not so little.
We've met a fair number of you in person and far more via phone calls, emails, and texts.
A lot of the relationships have left this original location and moved elsewhere, but the roots are still here in the Rain.
We've gained a network that goes coast to coast and north of the border.
We've tapped that network during family crisis because we knew we could rely on the folks we know here.
We've watched the site change significantly in appearance, ownership, and how its used.
We've exchanged ideas and if something new was on the horizon, chances are we heard it here first.
We've written content (LOTS of content), and we learned how to write it better and how to get results thanks to others here.
We've got evergreen content that works for us year after year.
We've learned tools to help us find out what we need to find out.
We've made money thanks to our work here, more than enough over the years to pay for that 10 acres on a mountaintop that will be our future home (it's been SLOW getting there, but progress is being made, more tortoise than hare, but we'll get to that finish line).
There's a lot of lessons we could pack into this post, but we'll cut it short.
ActiveRain is and has been a long term investment for us. The cons have been minimal, the pros significant.
ActiveRain can be as large or as small as we each choose for it to be.
Until next Tuesday, just Ask An Ambassador if you need help,
