From being a Realtor since 1980 and working with buyers, they do not want to be anywhere near the neighborhoods where there is even a possibility of homelessness creeping in.
You have heard there is more than one way to skin a cat. Here is a way to help increase the value of your home (depending on where you live) without going out and spending thousands of dollars remodeling.
A really big help is to call your Realtor to become involved in this. Even if you are not selling or buying now, the last real estate agent you used, CALL THEM! If you have a real estate agent who is proactive, in other words, creating or controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has happened, call them, even if you are not planning to sell now.
Here is what I am talking about: Homelessness is ruining our cities. I spoke last week with a Phoenix councilman to get started NOW in Phoenix. His excuse or reason was there are federal laws that keep the local governments from going too far in ending this disorder of structure in our cities.
The answer is to do what Finland has done. You and any proactive real estate agent you know research what Finland did to remove homelessness from their streets.
It is time to stop this before Phoenix Arizona and your city becomes like Los Angeles and San Francisco.
