Pacific Northwest Road Trip

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

As many of you I am sure are aware of, Joan Cox is currently on a Pacific Northwest Road Trip and sharing photos of her trip along the way.

Sandpoint Idaho Naples Mobil Park

A recent post stated how she was surprised there are no changing of colors yet.  I have noticed the same here in North Idaho.  My personal feelings are that we did not have the harsh summer temps we had last year in North Idaho.  Nor have we been inundated with smoke from fires.

Above photo is first sprinkling of color seen at my yard.  Oddly enough this is virtually the only tree showing signs of fall.  You would think there would be a sprinkling, of colors to come, thru-out all the trees or at least some.  Either way Fall is around the corner and coming fast.

September in Sandpoint Idaho is special.  While the warmer summer temperatures will still be fighting to stay, the cool, to cold nights, and shorter days will prevail.  My favorite time of year, to be honest, as we head into winter.

Would you like to experience the 4 seasons of North Idaho?  Contact me for any questions you may have regarding homes and/or vacant land in the Sandpoint Idaho areas.

When I stepped into my garden this morning, I noticed the tomato plants were beginning to show their age.  It's hard to believe it's September already.  It won't be long before leaves begin to turn color.

Hi Mark:

Guess I somehow missed that Joan was on a trip. Hopefully she is writing about it - will check it out.

We are starting to see the fall signs, too. Certainly the days are getting shorter!

Hi Mark, they said in Calgary the leaves haven't started yet due to the temps being warm at night still.   Your tree does look like it is changing.

Hi Mark- We still have warm days and night temps so I don't know when we'll see changes in the leaves. This is the time of year when I look forward to George Souto's Changes in Fall Colors posts!!

There is no normal, the wildfires are in different places, hurricane season is late, so many things this year are different.

It's still been warm here in Montana - my tomatoes are FINALLY turning red, my eggplants are finally getting big, etc. We had a very cold spring and then a hot summer and it's been a weird summer weather wise. I haven't seen any signs of Fall yet but I'm happy about that!

Hi Mark... I think your four seasons would not be quite to my taste with your cold winters, although I would love to travel to Idaho one day... it's one state of a handful I've never been to. I chose Charlotte to move to because it also had four seasons... but a very short and sweet winter!

Good morning Mark,

All over the country the weather has been unusual..we've had a VERY hot summer and warm temperatures in the day and night still prevail. No fall like temperatures or changing of colors on the horizon yet!

The temperatures have been different this year, and no Fall-like sprinkling of colors yet. What I have been noticing is the summer flowers are fading away quickly.
