This month's challenge sends me back in time to a few times when moments presented were outside the norm. These are mild compared to some salacious stories, ripe with drama, sex or downright deceit!

Settle down and take it slow now...
While out showing properties with a buyer couple, my car's odometer suddenly flipped from miles per hour to kilometers. Instead of driving approx. 45 mph, I panicked, thinking we were careening down the roadway at 70+ mph in a 50 mph zone!!! My brain finally registered that this was impossible!
ย
ย
I quickly pulled over to the side of the road to calm the heart rate. We all had a good laugh over that, after taking out the car's manual and correcting the odometer reading. Whew, that was extremely stressful!

Not all Roses smell the same...
Accepting a buyer referral from a fellow agent in the office, I was told this person was well qualified and ready to purchase a home. After meeting Rose, we set out early morning to view several properties that hit most marks. At the end of the day, she wished to write an offer on a favorite.
ย
ย
Getting back to the office, we discussed terms and conditions. Apparently, Rose had a huge gold nugget in her purse that she wanted to use for earnest money. She quickly pulls it out, ready to hand it over.
ย
Realizing she was very serious, I encouraged her to take it to a highly recommended, local jeweler to get it appraised. She agreed, left, no return or return of calls. So, it was nose goes with Rose!

FAMILY FIRST. And if you do not believe that, try me...
As a dedicated professional, I follow through on commitments made with few exceptions. On April 18th, 2014, my daughter-in-law started having contractions, Ruger was finally making his grand entrance to the outside world. Yay! I spent all night and the morning of the 19th at the hospital.
ย
ย
Exhausted and unable to drive, I called the property owner's to reschedule the planned open house that day, for another time. "No way!" was the answer and then one of them subtly hinted that I might be fired...
ย
Rather than deal with a clear lack of compassion, I sent over the Cancellation of Contract, pulled the sign and removed the lock box that following day.ย No one and nothing comes before my family or my safety.
ย
I repeat, NO ONE!!! ย They got the message LOUD & CLEAR.
ย
See?! Not much to see here...LOL!

Thanks to the hosts of September's Challenge, Eileen Burns and Kathy Streib. Your time and efforts are always appreciated!
