Hi Brian - quite an interesting play on words. 🙂  At this stage of my life I prefer single story.

As we age, one story living is more attractive (at least for me!)

Enjoy your day.

I have never lived in a 2 story home myself Michael Jacobs and didn't even consider them much when I was shopping for my home.

Good morning, Wayne Martin I have also heard that in my area going up is cheaper than going down which is why we don't have as many basement homes here.  I would definitely prefer going down to going up though.

Single-level homes have always appealed more to me Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 since I wouldn't want to constantly be going up and down stairs, haha.

I have never had a desire to have a 2-story home Grant Schneider but I have also always been alone so I haven't had the need for more space.

Even before we age Kat Palmiotti single-story homes seem to be more desirable, at least that is what I have noticed.

Brian, although it is less expensive to go up, versus out, aging adults still look for those one story homes to live out the best years of their lives.

Good morning Brian England ,

My preference is a single story. I grew up in a 2 story and was fine when we were kids but not now! Its nice to have choices and sometimes the level of inventory dictates what gets sold!

Over the past few years I had been living in a couple of different single floor homes. We just moved and now have two floors plus a basement as well, my legs are getting quite a workout from all the stairs.

This is one of the reasons that single-story homes usually have a higher resale value as well Joan Cox

Brian England  I believe age is a factor in the number of stories.  Older people want  55 and up seem to want one-story living and those under 55 do not want stairs anymore. They find one story living more desirable

Brian multi story homes maybe on the rise, BUT these days for me single level living is the home of choice.

Hi too prefer a one-story unless the master bedroom is on the first floor. Those stairs really get to you day in and day out. b

The only way I would consider a 2-story home Kathy Streib is if the primary bedroom were on the ground floor.  We aren't allowed to say master bedroom any longer, it offends people, haha.
