In Remembrance Isolation Lost
Today is a day of remembrance for the events of September 11, 2001 as our country which had such a sense of safety lost its innocence to a well-designed and financed attack that brought us into the reality that we are vulnerable. Across the globe, people have lived with the reality that they could be attacked across borders.
As we are a large part of the North American continent, we never had a fear from our neighbor to the north, nor to the south.
That no longer exists as we found out and that plan was almost completed to perfection.
Flags across our country fly at half-mast today in remembrance for the almost 3,000 lives lost in the 4 plane hijackings.
It changed the way we live, and travel will never be the same.
It woke us from our naivete that we were so well protected from our isolation to the rest of the world. But the world came to us to retaliate for some misguided sense of anger.
We have come to accept the extra precautions for travel s well as the idea of being ever vigilant for prole that may be contemplating similar actions .
We have a second day that will live in infamy and hopefully our loss of innocence will protect us in the future.
