This year is the 73rd year for this festival, which celebrates the mule and its role in rural farming. The festival includes live music, rodeos, a carnival, vendors and much more.

This outdoor event features hot air balloons, a nightly laser show, live entertainment, bounce houses and much more.

Downtown Raleigh | Friday, September 30th: 12 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, October 1st: 12 pm to 11 pm
Free and Ticketed performances by a wide range of musicians along with an art market, and food and beverage vendors.

Booth Amphitheatre, Cary | Friday, September 30th: 5 pm to 10 pm and Saturday, October 1st: 12 pm to 8:30 pm
An authentic German festival focused on family fun (Black Forest Band, Yodeling Contest, Wiener Dog Race & Parade, and more), traditional Bavarian food, and local and authentic German beers from Munich.

The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is one of the largest one-day arts and crafts festivals in the southeast.

Take the Ellerbe Creek Railway to the pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin. Enjoy a hay maze, mini golf, nature bingo, and take-home activities, then ride the Ellerbe Creek Railway back.

Spring Haven Farm is hosting Pumpkin Carving with Goats. Pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and then carve it. There will also be other fall activities, like a tractor train ride or The Haunted Forest. You can meet other animals as well.

Visitors ride on a 40-foot military truck with mounted paintball guns to shoot at roaming zombies in the dark.

Cary | Open Friday and Saturday from September 24th to October 29th
Four different attractions. Two haunted houses: Big Top Terror and the Gore House. Plus, Rebellion Trail (a hayride) and Field of Lost Souls (a trail through the corn.) Each attraction has trained scare actors who will not touch you.
