The Triangle and surrounding areas are ready for fall! Here’s a list of some of the festivals, haunted houses/trails, hayrides, corn mazes, and other fall farm activities.

September 22nd to 25th | Downtown Benson

This year is the 73rd year for this festival, which celebrates the mule and its role in rural farming. The festival includes live music, rodeos, a carnival, vendors and much more.

Meridian Community Foundation Park, Efland | September 23rd to 25th

This outdoor event features hot air balloons, a nightly laser show, live entertainment, bounce houses and much more.

IBMA World of Bluegrass Street Festival https://worldofbluegrass.org/
Downtown Raleigh | Friday, September 30th: 12 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, October 1st: 12 pm to 11 pm

Free and Ticketed performances by a wide range of musicians along with an art market, and food and beverage vendors.

Triangle Oktoberfest https://triangleoktoberfest.org/
Booth Amphitheatre, Cary | Friday, September 30th: 5 pm to 10 pm and Saturday, October 1st: 12 pm to 8:30 pm

An authentic German festival focused on family fun (Black Forest Band, Yodeling Contest, Wiener Dog Race & Parade, and more), traditional Bavarian food, and local and authentic German beers from Munich.

North Wilkesboro | Saturday, October 1st

The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is one of the largest one-day arts and crafts festivals in the southeast.

Downtown Wendell | Saturday, October 1st: 10 am to 9 pm

Enjoy a kid’s village, a parade, stage performances, vendors, food trucks, and a concert by the Brickhouse Band.

Rides, music, entertainment, livestock competitions, and lots of food.

A full day of Oktoberfest celebration with steins of Oktoberfest Bier & German food, music and dancing.

Corn Maze, Wagon Ride, Cow Train, Family Fun Park, and Sunflower Field

Museum of Life + Science, Durham | Saturday and Sundays in October

Take the Ellerbe Creek Railway to the pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin. Enjoy a hay maze, mini golf, nature bingo, and take-home activities, then ride the Ellerbe Creek Railway back.

Rougemont | Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 24th to October 30th

12-acre adventurous maze for families and a smaller maze for children. Also, hayrides, pumpkin patch, animals, barrel train rides, play areas, corn hole, ice cream, and more.

Chapel Hill | September 28th to October 31st (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays)

Spring Haven Farm is hosting Pumpkin Carving with Goats. Pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and then carve it. There will also be other fall activities, like a tractor train ride or The Haunted Forest. You can meet other animals as well.

20,000 square feet of ghoulishness in the haunted barn and a haunted hayride.

6 haunted attractions, including a Haunted Forest, Dark Trail, Haunted Hayride, Killers in the Corn, Stalkers’ Farm, and Carny Crypt.

Clayton | Friday and Saturdays from September 20th to October 29th, plus October 27th, 30th, and 31st

Fear Forest Hayride, The Black Hole, Slaughterhouse and the Farmhouse.

Durham | Friday and Saturday, October 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th

Visitors ride on a 40-foot military truck with mounted paintball guns to shoot at roaming zombies in the dark.

Haunted Farm at Phillips Farm https://phillipsfarmsofcary.com/haunted-farm/
Cary | Open Friday and Saturday from September 24th to October 29th

Four different attractions. Two haunted houses: Big Top Terror and the Gore House. Plus, Rebellion Trail (a hayride) and Field of Lost Souls (a trail through the corn.) Each attraction has trained scare actors who will not touch you.
