How to Grab Our Attention
How to Grab Our Attention
Let’s face it…no one wants to spend time and effort writing a post only to have a few people read it.
Whatever your target audience…the members here or potential clients …you may write a masterpiece but if someone doesn’t click on your title…what good is it?!
Titles DO make a difference.
Time is precious to all of us so when we are trolling for something to read, we naturally gravitate towards titles that ENTICE US as Rocky Dickerson said. We want some idea of what we’ll read when we click on the post. Is it something we’re interested in? Will it provide information on a topic?
Many years ago (( apologize for not remembering the source) I read about a site called Advanced Headline Analyzer. I’ve used it off and on for years.
Just for fun, I took some post titles from ActiveRain.
Featured Listing! 5232 Falling Star Rd Tallahassee Real Estate! from Joe Manausa - Tallahassee, FL got 55% which is good!!!
What to know about tiny houses. Bill Gassett 33% …Still good!
How well do you communicate? Grant Schneider 60%!!!
I grabbed an older post of mine I’d written… (and one I should re-do)
Preparing your home for sale in Palm Beach County. What to do before you list your house. 43%
All you have to do is enter a title of at least 4 words and no more than 20. The analyzer looks at the title from an intellectual, spiritual, and emotional perspective.
Nothing says you HAVE to use this or that it will guarantee more readers of your blog. In fact, as Rocky discussed, nothing is more annoying than diving into a post and finding nothing there.
