Baltimore County and Catonsville, MD Market Conditions
The market is shifting in many areas of the country and the stresses of a much higher interest rate than a year ago and putting pressure on home sale prices in some areas. The information in the table below is taken from our local MLS and is believed to be accurate at the time it was collected and shows that on average prices are still rising over the same time last year and there is still high demand for homes, multiple offers, and homes selling for more than the list price despite declining sales numbers.
Maryland is somewhat sheltered from this pressure due to how close we are to Washington DC and the number of defense contractor employers in Maryland. I live in Catonsville, which is a convenient and central location close to Baltimore and close enough to use the MARC train to commute to Washington DC, in addition, Catonsville has that small-town feel with good schools, entertainment, and shopping close by.
As the market shifts, it's even more important that sellers choose an agent that is in tune with market conditions.
