Wordless Wednesday…International Day of Peace

Today is the International Day of Peace as declared by the United Nations. I read somewhere that Peace isn’t just something we celebrate but something we continue to build.

Besides peace in the world (wouldn't that be wonderful)...we can work on peace within our families…our workplace…neighbors…people we don’t even know.

It is up to us to make our own PEACE… learn to say a kind word (sometimes even if you don’t mean it)... offer an olive branch to someone…sit down with someone to discuss and learn, not a lecture

Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.

Albert Einstein

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

If you want peace, you don't talk to your friends.

You talk to your enemies.

I wish that there was more peace in the world, it seems like everyone is always fighting with someone.

The very first test I took in college was in political science.  We had to write our thoughts on the line, "If you want peace, prepare for war."  I much prefer your quotes.  😃

Hi Kathy,
I believe peace starts from a foundation within ourselves. If WE are not at peace we certainly aren't going to be able to spread it.

Brian England there used to be more civility even among people who disagreed with each other.

Leanne Smith I don't think many put much if any faith in that organization anymore.

Joan Cox me too, but I have a feeling that people are human and we may never see peace.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX wasn't that an interesting quote by Desmond Tutu  And I think that may be what many are not doing these days.

Ray Henson that sounds so cynical, doesn't it?!

You are absolutely right Carol Williams When we are at peace with who we are, we don't feel as threatened by others. It opens the way for people to be kinder to others.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 I agree. There will always be some people who will never change, but it's a small percentage.

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker You can not begin to like others and to be kind to them until we are at peace with our own selves.

George Souto sadly it is because humans exist. We are the variable.
