The Fall Colors are Starting in Central CT

We have transitioned into the season of color known as Fall. Very quickly the trees will start their changes and fall foliage will be all around us here in Connecticut.

As I was walking with a client I noticed a spray of color at the base of an oak tree.

From a distance it looked like a cluster of mini pumpkins, but as I got closer it was a mushroom cluster and a color I had not seen before.

While they may look very tempting, i do know that the only mushrooms I would eat come in bags from the local grocery.

Other colors will come soon, and I will share them as well.

Hello Ed - while Fall may not be as obvious in our area, it helps to be and stay aware of the subtle shifts happening.  Seasonally and with every moment.

Good morning, Ed... nothing much in the way of fall colors in Charlotte, as yet. So I'll just enjoy them through your posts.

Good morning, Ed. I think maybe your Fall colors are developing a little earlier back there this year than when I was there last year.  Fall IS my favorite season for the mild temperatures and beautiful colors.

Those are some pretty cool-looking mushrooms and if I liked eating mushrooms I would find out if they were edible or not so that I wouldn't have to go to the store and purchase them, haha.

There is one mushroom (so far) that I will pick and eat. I'd love to find out which other ones would be edible. If I don't have to spend money at the grocery store, it's a great day!

Good morning Ed Silva ,

Love the fall colors that are starting to be visible in CT. I always loved the fall foliage growing up in upstate NY, jumping in the leaves we had to rake and just smelling the crisp, clean smells of fall. Thank you for sharing your colors!

Ed the trees have not started to turn yet here in Middletown, but I expect they will start this coming week.  I have picked out a new sight for my series, and hope to write the initial blog in the next few days.

Hi Ed- I haven't seen fall colors here and certainly haven't seen mushrooms that color either. I can't wait to see more.

Ed Silva - it does seem like an early Autumn. I'll be looking for more photos of the changing of the seasons New England style. I also like to see the mushrooms pop up like magic!

Hi Ed Silva,

I so enjoy seeing the color of the season.  In Sedona, we get a late push before we see most changes.  Of course, we can get an early glimpse if we go up to Flagstaff! So I do appreciate you sharing the change of seasons early.

We are getting leaves also. However, most were thermal shock from 118 deg F hot spell. If we get 5% of rain amount as Florida I am greatful.
