Won't you help this young family?
Some posts we read on this platform are heartbreaking, other posts cheer us up, and others well you know... Then there are posts that require our help. I often reflect how blessed and lucky we are to live comfortably, and I am also aware that this can change on a moment’s notice.
Help comes in many forms by providing emotional support, by spreading the word as well as by providing financial support. If you give up a cup of coffee, or a cup of soda, or a glass of wine and put it towards helping here will be appreciated. It is not the dollar amount, after all every dollar is a dollar and will help. Clearly the more you can help the better it will be. Don’t stay on the sidelines by thinking it is just too little. Also do not stay on the sideline because you might not like me, it is not about me.

Won't you help this young family?
In June of 2021, Kodah, our grandson, was born with a rare congenital disorder that is not curable. After 2 life flights, emergency room visits and a few hospital stays, he was finally diagnosed. The bills amount to more than $220,000.00. This July, Sebastian, Kodah's dad, fell and broke his neck, sustaining other life threatening injuries. His hospital bill is around $250,000.00.
He is unable to go back to work and will need several months to heal and then start physical therapy to regain muscle and become strong again. If you can donate, that would be a great help. Here is the link: https://gofund.me/9695d29d
A note from Kodah's mom and Sebastian's wife:
Over the last year, our family has been through so much. From multiple life flights and NICU stays for our son Kodah, to finally getting a diagnosis and having to educate ourselves on his rare genetic disorder. It was so much on our family, but we stayed strong together and leaned on each other to process everything. I felt like we were finally through the hurdles and Sebastian and I were both working through our trauma and we were finally feeling like we turned a corner.
But, in July my husband Sebastian had a terrible accident. He lost consciousness and fell out of his semi-truck and landed directly on his head. He lay there unconscious for hours before he was able to wake himself up. If he didn't wake up, he probably would not be here with us today. No one would have been around to see him or find him until the following day. It's truly such a miracle that he woke up and was able to find the strength to pull himself back up into his truck and call me.
He ended up needing emergency surgery for a broken neck. Along with that, he has a broken back, a severed ligament in his spine, nerve damage, brain bleeding, as well as a skull fracture. It's safe to say that it is a miracle he's alive, much less walking. He still has a very long road ahead and I think it's taking quite a bit of time to process this injury. He has been the main support for our family since we had our son last year and this has been an extremely hard time for our family. We have tried so hard to handle our burdens on our own, but we have reached a point where we can no longer do this alone.
It has been hard to come to terms with the fact that we need help in this season of life. We have so many medical appointments ahead for Sebastian as well as Kodah and financially we could use all of the help we can get during this time. We know that the Lord works in mysterious ways and we will get through this, but we need some help to get there.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
-Devyn
